As business owners, we’re often told that we need to be everywhere, all the time – and preferably at the same time!
Ever felt that way? I definitely have!
But sometimes, shit happens. And when it does, we need to take care of it. (If you’re a solopreneur like me, you know that no one else will do it for you!)
So let me tell you where I’ve been the past months. I’ve been practicing self-management. Which for me, right now, has meant to NOT be everywhere, all the time, at the same time.
I’ve actively chosen to focus on moving my business growth course online – which in short has meant producing tons of video class content.
❓ Have I wanted to FLY out on social media to tell everyone about it? YES!
❓ Have I felt frustrated that I just haven’t had the time or the energy to do so? DEFINITELY!
But, I came to a point where I had to choose:
👉 I could either try to be everywhere, all the time – or I could choose my focus.
👉 I could stay in a place of frustration and stress – or choose acceptance instead.
Now, don’t get me wrong: I’m not Zen! I’m not happy and content all of the time. But I simply discovered that frustration and grumpiness area HUGE energy drainers! 😃
So, I chose focus, acceptance and being OK with the fact that right now, I’m building for that next step. And when I’m done, I can’t wait to fly out on social media and tell you all about it!
Entrepreneurial burnout is very real. One of the most important things we can do to take care of ourselves, is to let go of the idea that we have to be everywhere, all the time, at the same time.
If you end your workdays cross eyed, dizzy and with zero energy left for yourself and/or your loved ones, then you’re simply working too hard! Sometimes we have to. But we can’t do it all of the time. We just won’t last that way.
So, here’s my question:
💜 Is there something in your business that can wait? Is there somewhere you don’t have to be right now? Something that doesn’t need your attention today?
💜 If you could focus your energy to get the truly important stuff done, what would that be like?
Because remember:
It’s OK not to be everywhere all the time. Sometimes it makes more sense to focus on what matters right now – and then, step out into the world again.
With love and light,
Sanna xo
